How to Use the Emulator, Step by Step

From a blank page to a printed dual meet projection in about ten minutes. After the first time, it takes about two.

The Emulator is built around one idea: enter your roster once, then spend dual day changing only what actually changed. Here is the full workflow.

The Short Version

The Emulator follows three steps down the page: Set Teams, Build Rosters, and Build Lineup & Analyze. The results then appear as a dashboard where you can change any bout and watch the team score update. If you want to see it before entering your own team, tap the gold Take the 1-Minute Walkthrough button at the top, or read the Quick Start page. The walkthrough you through every part of the page with highlights, and loads a sample dual with made-up wrestlers if you have not entered a team yet.

A jump bar of section chips sticks to the top of the screen as you scroll: Teams, Rosters, Lineup, and, once you analyze, Results and Compare. Tap a chip to jump there. Tap any section title to fold that section away and cut down on scrolling. The page remembers which sections you left open. The lineup cards themselves always stay open.

Step 1: Set Teams

Type your team in the Home box and your opponent in the Away box. The names carry through the whole page, including the coin, the match order, the projections, and the printed sheet. Home is always green and Away is always red.

Step 2: Build Rosters

Each team has its own roster. The roster is the full list of wrestlers you might use, and it is separate from the lineup. That separation is what makes bumping safe: moving a wrestler around the lineup never changes or deletes his record.

Tap any wrestler in the roster list to edit his name, roster weight, record, placements, Boom or Bust flag, and tendencies. Tap the team name at the top of a roster to fold it away when you are done.

Update Records after every dual

Tap Update Records in a roster to flip through your wrestlers one at a time. Each one has big + and − buttons for wins and losses, or you can type the numbers. After you add a win or loss, you can tap how it ended (fall, tech fall, major, decision) to keep his tendencies current. Next moves to the next wrestler, and every change saves as you go.

Step 3: Build the Lineup

Pick your weight set first: 13 is the PIAA (Pennsylvania) lineup and 14 is the NJSIAA (New Jersey) lineup. Choosing 15 to 20 adds editable slots. See PA vs NJ Weight Classes Explained.

Every weight has a dropdown for each team. It lists the wrestlers who are at or next to that weight first, then the rest of the roster, so you can put anyone anywhere. A wrestler can only be in one spot. If you pick someone who is already in the lineup, he moves, and his old weight is left open. If a roster is empty, you can also type a name straight into an open weight.

Bumping a wrestler

Each filled weight has Bump Down and Bump Up buttons. A bump moves that wrestler exactly one weight class. Nothing else shifts:

An open weight counts as a forfeit if the other team has a wrestler there. That is on purpose: it shows you the real cost of a bump.

Advanced Match Settings

The coin toss, starting weight, and odd or even choice live in the collapsible Advanced Match Settings panel. Set the starting weight and whether your team is ODD or EVEN, and every weight shows its match number and who sends out first. Understanding the Coin Toss and Match Order covers the strategy.

Step 4: Analyze and Adjust

Tap Analyze Dual. The dashboard shows the projected team score, the projected winner, and one card per bout in match order. Each card shows both wrestlers, the model's pick and result, and a Coach Assessment right underneath.

Bouts labeled Key Matchup are close in the model and could flip, or nearly flip, the dual if they go the other way. The card explains the swing, for example how the score would change if the underdog won by decision.

Step 5: Keep, Compare, Print

Your work also saves automatically on the device, so closing the tab does not lose it.

Using the Roster Catalogue

The Roster page keeps your team organized by season and collects every opponent you have saved. Tap Load on any wrestler or opponent card and it fills straight into the Emulator.

Where your data lives: lineups and rosters are saved in your own browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. That also means clearing your browser data erases them, and your phone and laptop keep separate copies.
